FAQ
- How does image to text work?
- Drop a screenshot or photo. Screenshot2Text loads Tesseract.js in your browser, reads the pixels locally, and shows selectable text you can copy. The first run downloads the OCR engine; later runs reuse the cached files.
- What formats can I upload?
- The free tier accepts PNG, JPG/JPEG, WEBP, GIF, and BMP. PDF upload and batch (multiple files) are reserved for the one-time unlock.
- Do you upload my screenshot?
- No. OCR runs in the browser. We don't upload your image for OCR, and we don't store the picture or the extracted text on a server.
- Does it read handwriting?
- Printed text and clear UI screenshots work best. Messy handwriting, low-contrast photos, and stylized fonts often come back incomplete. Try a higher-resolution crop when results look off.
